About the Foundation

Born From One Little Girl’s Fight.

And a community that refused to let her family fight alone.

Our story

Being scared doesn’t mean you aren’t brave.

At just 2 years old, Remington was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, turning her family’s world upside down almost overnight.

Suddenly, their lives included chemotherapy, scans, procedures, hospital stays, and conversations no parent ever expects to have about their child. There were plenty of moments when they were scared. But Remington continued to teach everyone around her something incredibly important: being scared doesn’t mean you aren’t brave.

Throughout Remington’s treatment, friends, family, businesses, schools, churches, sports teams, and complete strangers found ways to show up for Remington and her entire family. Some gestures were huge. Others were incredibly simple. Every one reminded them that they were not fighting alone.

In September 2026, Remington was honored by the Cincinnati Reds as an Honorary Captain during Childhood Cancer Awareness. Her story and the mission of Brave Like Remington Foundation were shared on the main scoreboard at Great American Ball Park, giving our young foundation an incredible opportunity to bring awareness to children and families fighting childhood cancer and serious illness.

Paying it forward

There was no way to repay everyone. So the family chose to pass it on.

The Brave Like Remington Foundation was created to take the love, courage, and support Remington’s family received and pass it on to other children and families facing some of the scariest moments of their lives.

We cannot take away a child’s diagnosis. We cannot make every scary procedure disappear. But we can show up. We can bring comfort into a hospital room. We can give a child something that makes them smile. We can support families walking through incredibly difficult days. And we can remind children that an entire community is standing behind them.

“This started with one brave little girl. But it was never meant to stop with her.”

Mission & vision

Children and families should not face scary moments alone.

Our Mission

The mission of the Brave Like Remington Foundation is to bring courage, comfort, and hope to children and families facing scary moments, including cancer, serious illness, and hospitalization.

Inspired by Remington’s courage, we provide comforting resources and Brave Boxes, support families navigating difficult medical journeys, promote messages of bravery and encouragement, and work to support pediatric cancer research.

Through every program, partnership, and act of kindness, we remind children that they can be scared and brave at the same time, taking life One Big Brave Breath at a Time.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a community where no child or family facing serious illness feels like they are fighting alone.

We want Brave Like Remington to grow from its Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati roots into an organization capable of reaching children and families wherever our programs can make a meaningful difference.

Success will be measured by how many children and families know somebody is standing beside them.

Our values

What guides every decision.

CourageCourage does not mean being fearless. Sometimes courage is taking the next step while you are scared.
CompassionChildren and families facing serious illness deserve to feel seen, supported, and cared for.
CommunityRemington’s family experienced what can happen when people come together. The Foundation wants to recreate that feeling for other families.
ChildhoodA child undergoing treatment is still a child. Laughter, comfort, imagination, play, and simply being a kid still matter.
FamilyChildren are at the center of the mission, while parents, caregivers, siblings, and families are recognized and supported.
ResponsibilityThe Foundation is responsible to families, donors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers to operate responsibly and keep the mission first.
HopeEven during incredibly difficult days, hope matters.
