Our programs

Courage, Comfort, and Hope—Put Into Action.

Anything that has not officially launched is clearly marked In Development or Coming Soon.

In development

Brave Boxes

Brave Boxes will be the Foundation’s flagship program. They will contain carefully selected, age-appropriate comfort items, toys, activities, books, and resources for children facing cancer, serious illness, hospitalization, and difficult medical treatment.

These are not supposed to be random boxes of toys. Each Brave Box should provide comfort, distraction, encouragement, and a little bit of normal childhood during an incredibly abnormal situation.

Brave Buddy Letters

Children, classrooms, schools, churches, sports teams, businesses, and community organizations will be able to write encouraging letters to children facing difficult medical journeys.

Downloadable instructions and materials are planned so groups can participate easily when the program is ready.

Growing program

Brave Like Remington Book

The Brave Like Remington children’s book reinforces the Foundation’s central message: you can be scared and brave at the same time.

The goal is to include copies in appropriate Brave Boxes for children who have not already received one and eventually work toward placing the book in hospitals and organizations serving children facing serious illness.

Family Resources

This is planned as a resource library for parents and caregivers. It will not provide medical advice. Instead, it will connect families with reputable organizations, programs, support services, educational information, and practical resources that may help during a difficult medical journey.

05
Long-term mission

Pediatric Cancer Research

Supporting pediatric cancer research is part of the Foundation’s long-term mission. As this develops, the website will show the organizations, institutions, or research initiatives supported and the impact of those contributions.

Childhood

A child undergoing treatment is still a child.

Whenever possible, we want to create opportunities for laughter, comfort, imagination, play, and simply being a kid.

The purpose behind every program

A Brave Box should help a child understand:

Somebody is thinking about me.

Somebody cares about me.

I’m not facing this alone.
